Rebels, Terrorists....Muslims?

It appears to be a truth universally acknowledged that Muslims really are terrorists. Yet everyday most of us Muslims seek to remove this image. But that does not stop people from openly advocating the same. The link above is of an episode from the TV show, “The Good Wife”. In the middle of the episode, Zachary (the lead character, Alicia's son) is told by his friend Becca that he needs a little 'rebellion' in his life. She gives him a CD which we would probably expect to be rap music....guess what it turns out to be?

Later in the episode, Zachary's grandmother tells Alicia that she should take her kids to church more often as he has a Muslim girlfriend and he listens to 'Muslim music'. When Alicia confronts Zach and moves his computer from his room to the living room Zach storms out and starts playing the Azaan at a loud volume.
Maybe my surprise is exaggerated as this is the first time I have come across such an outright portrayal of Muslims in a negative light without any warning. But shouldn't this be a shocking matter for us all? As Muslims, we have the responsibility to show civility and tolerance but also to promote our Religion in a good light and should a time come for us to protest against injustice then we can and we should be doing it within the prescribed limits....does this episode not call for us to do that?
